A second brain app usually means filing notes by hand. MetaWhisp starts from speech instead. When a conversation closes, after you stop a meeting recording or after ten quiet minutes following your dictations, it reads the whole conversation and pulls out the commitments in it: the ones you made become tasks, with the due date you said, and the ones other people made go to a Waiting on list. With memories switched on, it also keeps facts worth knowing later, such as a colleague’s preferences or a decision and its reason. Everything is stored on your Mac, in the Workspace and the Library, and MetaChat can answer questions from it. Extraction needs an AI model, either the local one that costs nothing, a key you bring from OpenAI or Cerebras, or Pro. Pro adds a summary of each day and patterns across the week.

Tasks are extracted whenever an AI model is set up, be it the local one, a key or Pro. Memories are off until you switch them on. The daily summary is part of Pro.
When a conversation closes: right after you stop recording a meeting, or once you have been quiet for ten minutes after dictating. MetaWhisp reads the whole conversation at once, so a task you settled later in the same talk is not added.
It has no access to your accounts. If you turn on Screen Context, it can notice tasks in the chat and mail windows you have open, and close a task by itself when it sees you have done it.
